Конструкція:
Кабель може містити від 5 до 24 оптичних модулів, навитих навколо центрального силового елемента, в яких може розташовуватися до 288 оптичних волокон. Оптичний кабель FinMark LTxxx-SM-05 являє собою полегшену модифікацію конструкції LТxxx- SM-04, що дозволяє закласти до 96 волокон в кабель зовнішнім діаметром до 12 мм.
Усередині модулів знаходиться гідрофобний гель. У кабелі з малою кількістю волокон, замість відсутніх оптичних модулів застосовуються т.зв. «заповнюючі» модулі. Простір між модулями заповнений водоблокуючим компанундом. Поверх сердечника кабелю накладена броня з сталевої гофрованої стрічки, яка, крім механічного захисту, служить гідробар’єром, що перешкоджає дифузії вологи через полімерні оболонки в сторону оптичного волокна. Зовнішня оболонка виготовлена з УФ-стабілізованого поліетилену високої щільності.
