Magnetic shafts have different structures. Sometimes, the magnetic shaft is a rather complex structure, in the form of a metal roller, which is coated with a special layer, such is found in cartridges manufactured by Canon and HP. The magnetic shaft can also be made of high quality rubber. Magnetic shaft directly affects print quality and image formation. Damage may result in severe print quality deterioration. Dirt and dust can accumulate on the shaft cover.

If scratches are present, they can contribute to deformation. This reduces the life of the magnetic shaft and the quality of the toner used for printing. Magnetic shaft has a strong impact on the entire operation of the cartridge and is the main basis for the overall print quality. The surface of the magnetic shaft is covered with a black conductive sheath. The shell may require self-replacement, separately from the entire magnetic shaft.

If the print is very light, then you need to replace only the shell itself. Most often this is the wear of the surface of the magnetic shaft or the result of pollution. If the coating is worn out, then looking at the magnetic shaft, you will see the silver sheen of the shell. So the coating is worn and the shell must be replaced. This fault is very easy to see on large areas of the pattern with a dense black fill. When printing text, this defect can be not detected at all or it will not be so noticeable.
