MiniGBIC Modules provide a flexible and simple solution for high speed Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Depending on the type of optical cable used, you can install the correct MiniGBIC module in the switch. Optical transceivers are equipped with standard LC connectors for compatibility.
These transceivers are sized according to the industry standard Small Form Pluggable (SFP). The modules are inserted into the MiniGBIC slot of Gigabit Ethernet switches. They provide the necessary signal amplification for transmitting and receiving data when the port is connected to an optical or copper cable .
