Water-soluble inks are best suited for printing on glossy papers. Pigment inks, especially with large pigment particles, may be slightly smeared. Water-soluble ink dries quickly and is absorbed, creating a durable and rich image. Photographs printed on glossy paper are often very difficult to distinguish from photographs obtained in photo studios by chemical methods. The sensitivity of the prints received may even exceed the studio.
